GUIDO FERRO

Entrepreneur, he was born in 1942. He began his career in the family’s factory in 1957. Under the guidance of his father he familiarized himself with all the productive department.
Soon his interest was captured by the glass composition division, a magic place, an alchemist’s laboratory.
By working on and experimenting the countless minerals mixtures he became one of the most expert on glass blends.
In 1966 he and his brothers founded what would be for years the biggest industrial reality in Murano Island.
At the age of 30 he was appointed counsellor of the local glass-manufacturers association, of which he is currently the president for the 3rd time.
He has been president of the Vetroacquisti Consortium since 1985. He was also a member of the International Scientific Committee of the Stazione Sperimentale del Vetro.
